ARTISTEiki OKUDA
Born in Tokyo in 1985, Eiki Okuda is a pixel creator and artist who employs a minimalist approach to media expression, reducing data to the essentials in an era where high-resolution, massive data processing is readily accessible. In his "Sad Game" series for the Family Computer (Nintendo Entertainment System), Okuda handcrafted each element, from programming to soldering the circuits himself. By bending conventional game rules and stripping away playful elements, he explores new possibilities in game aesthetics. In recent years, he has collaborated with brands and artists, including adidas, hip-hop artist and rapper wilywnka for a promotional video, and Yuzu, a popular Japanese music duo, on various creative projects.
